Highlights

  • 14 live performances in the ICA Theatre and Bar over three nights including POLE & BOMB 20 (Berlin), Radio 1 resident VJ KRIEL mixing visuals with DJ SPOOKY (New York), Ryo-co vs Bad Boy (Melange Records), Chin or Crater, Nullpointer (London), Station Rose (Frankfurt), Brigid Burke (Australia), Socket (Bristol) & DJ Tendraw & The Gypsies Dog (London).
  • 3 club nights in the ICA Bar featuring DJ sets from NICK LUSCOMBE (XFM ëFloí Motioní), ZAN LYONS, EAT YOUR OWN EARS, SLANGTON (Ben Willmott of Spiky Records) and THE BOWLING GREEN with visuals mixed live by ADDICTIVE TV, GLIMPSE (Justin Eade), CHENKO (Stan Mytkowski), NUROPTIC and PAUL BLACKWOOD (of Reality Check, Turnmills). 
  • 9 selected audiovisual works screened in the ICA Theatre including a premiere of THE THE IN THE AM ñ a collaboration between The The and MTV presenter Ian Peel.
  • 7 selected installation works exhibited at the Global CafÈ gallery, Golden Square including ROBIN McGINLEYís ëEarth's 4.5 Billion Year Old Music Compositioní ñ a work that utilises both antique valve-based short wave radio equipment, and the latest DSP computer technology, to enable us to hear the Earth's own natural electro-acoustic composition. 
  • Over 15 selected screen based works, curated by soundyoys.net and exhibited in the ICA New Media Centre.  Contributions included GOLAN LEVINís beautiful interactive 'Flong' ñ a stand alone piece written in Java and works from JULIAN BAKER and IXI who both explore Director software to make highly inventive stand-alone applications and music tools.
  • Over 12 hours of programming in ICA Cinema 2 from leading UK VJ label ADDICTIVE TV featuring work from their Channel 4 TV and DVD projects by SPIRAL 3, FRUCTOSE, DMX KREW, VIVIAN WU & TIM ëLoveí LEE to name a few, plus off-beat electronic music promos curated by CINEFEEL including SUBAKT (France), SEMICONDUCTOR (UK) and NEIL MCFARLAND (UK).
  • A two day symposium featuring presentations and papers from over 20 of the leading academic and commercial innovators within the realms of contemporary sound and music. Sessions included JONAH BRUCKER-COHEN of MIT Europe with ëPhysical Web Interfacesí as part of the practice of sound art - new instruments, interfaces and networked performance; GABRIELLA BRAUN with BAFTA award winning ëAntartic Wavesí as part of live performance methods, algorithmic and generative processes; Anders-Petter Andersson & Birgitta Cappelen of the Interactive Institute, Malmo Sweden with ëFrom Key To Fieldí as a part of installations, interactive sound and audiences; and a discussion on copyright and commerce with panelists including Dr RICHARD BARBROOK and TONY MOSS of The Ministry of Sound.
